Teachers Toolkit
Featuring audio and
video demonstrations
of Australian English
The ideal resource for all Teachers,
produced in Australia for Australian Teachers.

The Australian English Pronunciation Teacher’s Toolkit (4 CD
Interactive CD's) has been designed to enable teachers to step
back and monitor student progress whilst the Toolkit drives the
learning and improvement of their students’ English
Pronunciation.
In the classroom, there may be students who speak English as a
second language or who are new arrivals to Australia. These
students will all have different learning needs depending on
their country of origin. By using the English Pronunciation
Toolkit, you will be able to accurately pre-test and correct
your students’ English Pronunciation.
The Toolkit will also enable you to access the program at the
individual student’s specific point of need. |
| |
The pre-testing is a diagnostic tool, a step by step process
sequentially working through the Phonics, including the short
and long vowels, phonemes, diphthongs, beginning and ending
consonant blends, thematic vocabulary and comprehension
reviews.
When printed, this becomes the means by which you can create
your individualised learning plan for each student focussing on
their particular areas of difficulty in pronunciation.
This plan will concentrate on the sounds in English that don’t
exist in their first language. For example, a student cannot
produce the ‘ L ’ sound, if they can’t hear it. |
 |
| |
They don’t reproduce it correctly if the sound does not exist in
their native tongue. When heard correctly and properly mimicked,
the student’s native accent is greatly reduced and correct
pronunciation is established.
The Mouth Gym, plays the role of a personal tutor, correctly
modelling Australian English pronunciation and providing the
exercises necessary to strengthen the mouth and tongue muscles
needed to produce unfamiliar sounds.
The Mouth Gym is also an adaptable tool, allowing students to be
in charge of their own learning both in a school setting and in
the privacy of their home. |
 |
| |
This Mouth Gym program forms a valuable homework resource that
can be implemented by PC’s, Laptops, MP3 Players and iPods.
Students can practise independently by regularly listening and
speaking with correct pronunciation in any environment. They can
also record their own voice to compare with the Australian
English modelling.
Internet links on the Mouth Gym CD, access various further
resources to enrich listening skills and vocabulary and grammar,
to encourage students to widen their language skills. These
exercises also enable participation in a humanitarian aid
program.
The Mouth Gym CD (CD4 of the Toolkit) can also be purchased
separately in packs of 50, for student's practice anywhere, anytime.

The Soundboard feature uses the drag and drop technology. This
allows students to create new words or recreate difficult words
in order to decode unfamiliar phonics and pronounce them.
Teachers can easily demonstrate the similarity and distinguish
the differences between the English phonic building blocks.
The Program models spoken, written and visual modes,
demonstrating the clear, understandable speech that the students
aim to achieve, independent of their reading abilities.
It
is vital to teach all of the basic sounds of the English
language to students. Without these basics, conversation is
always difficult. The way these sounds are pronounced also
determines a speaker’s accent.

 |
| |
The 4 CD Toolkit contains over 700 Video clips, 1000 Audio clips
and MP3 files. The program has also been optimised for use with
Interactive White Boards.
